As an Atlanta-based attorney, I have experience in wills, trusts, and estates.  I truly enjoy helping people plan for their future and giving them peace of mind.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Asian Studies from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  While in college, I spent six months studying at Capital Normal University in Beijing, People’s Republic of China where I increased my knowledge of the Mandarin Chinese language and Chinese business and family culture.  I received my Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

While attending Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, I was an elected class representative in the Student Bar Association for four consecutive years, chosen by the Office of Admissions to be a Student Ambassador, and selected by the Office of Student Services to be a Peer Mentor to incoming first year students.

In addition to my administrative activities in law school, I was an Editor for the John Marshall Law Journal, a member of the Client Counseling team that was ranked 6th in the nation, and a Torts Study Group facilitator.  I was also a research assistant to Dean Kimberly D’Haene.

During law school, I was very honored to receive the Custer-Tuggle Award for Excellence in Family Law, given to me by the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. This award recognizes the student who displays outstanding skills in domestic relations law.  I also received the CALI Award for Excellence in Family Law.  While I was a Peer Mentor, I was one of the first recipients of the Peer Mentor of the Year award.

While attending Western Michigan, I was an active member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and continue my activity as an alumnae.  During law school, I was a member of the legal fraternity Phi Alpha Delta.

I am an active member in good standing of the State Bars of Georgia and Michigan.  In Georgia, I am a member of the Fiduciary Law section and Solo Practitioner/Small Firm section.  In addition, I am active in the Georgia Young Lawyers Division and I am currently a Member-at-Large on the Representative Council. In Michigan, I am a member of the Estate Planning and Elder Law sections, the Young Lawyers section, and the Solo Practitioner section.

I am a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and the Atlanta Bar Association.  I am sworn in to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the District & Probate Courts in Michigan.

Giving back to the community is very important to me and I take every chance I get to help others and volunteer my time to worthy causes.  I am actively involved in my daughter’s school and have been a Girl Scout troop co-leader.  I do pro bono work through Georgia Legal Services for those people outside metro Atlanta who need free or reduced fee legal assistance.  I have raised over $6,000 for breast cancer research by participating twice in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day walk.  I also have two dear friends who passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) so I  have donated to help find a cure.

In my spare time, I like to do crafts with my daughter and play with our two Boston Terriers, Winston and Clementine.  My husband and I enjoy watching movies and also challenging each other while watching “Jeopardy.”  We also love to travel and have been to Prague, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Australia, Turks and Caicos, and many of America’s beautiful cities like Washington, D.C., Hana, Hawaii, Manasota Key, Florida, and Mackinaw Island, Michigan.
